This drawing contains both ideas of birth and death based on the memory of losing someone. The baby symbolizes birth as the skull signifies demise. The overall composition expresses the coexistence of both human phenomena. I have altered the principle, death is usually unsolicited as supposed to accouchement, through the egg theme. The cracked skull surrounding the baby is reminiscent of the eggshell protecting the yolk but discarded afterward, representing my belief that death must exist for birth to occur. Therefore, it is also drawn with pencils to give the medium a heavily controlled yet brightly expressed image.
